About LoTE

ΕΣΤε

Research and education in Transportation Engineering since 1998.

Wecolme to Laboratory Of Transportation Engineering

The Laboratory of Transportation Engineering (LTSE) was founded in 1998 and is responsible for all educational and research activities related to the design, organization, operation and evaluation of transportation systems and infrastructures of the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering of NTUA. The fields of activity of the LoTE include road and railway infrastructure and airport design, traffic engineering, transport planning, railway design, intelligent transport systems, transport economics and road safety.

The staff of the LoTE consists of 3 faculty members, 5 postdoctoral fellows, 9 PhD candidates and 3 associates.

The members of LoTE are particularly active in the fields of the laboratory, through their participation in Greek and international research projects, the writing of scientific articles and participation in international conferences and their participation in scientific and professional committees. In addition, the members of LoTE, responding to the needs of forming an established and recognized physiognomy of an engineer and aiming at the utilization of practical and professional experience in teaching and research, participate as members of teams or independently in studies and constructions of transport infrastructures and systems such as road studies, transport planning studies, traffic studies, road safety audits, etc.

TEACHING AND RESEARCH WORK

The teaching and research work of LoTE concerns the following subjects: geometric road design, access management, road control and inspection, intelligent transport systems, traffic engineering, road safety, road safety, transport economics, railways, airport design, transport planning.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES

The undergraduate courses provided by the LoTE at Scool of Rural, Survying and Geoinformatics Engineering (NTUA) include compulsory courses, compulsory courses of the (major or minor) specialization of Transportation Engineering and elective courses.

POSTGRADUATE COURSE

In addition, LoTE participates in a postgraduate course of the MSc "Geoinformatics" of NTUA. The courses are held in the form of lectures and include both theory and exercises.
